Ingredients
Whole black gram (sabut urad) 1/2 cup
Red kidney beans (rajma) 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
Ginger chopped 2 inch pieces
Oil 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Garlic chopped 6 cloves
Onion chopped 1 large
Green chilies slit 2
Tomatoes 2 medium
Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
Coriander and cumin powder 1 tbsp
Method
Soak Urad and rajma over night in three cups of water. Drain.
In grinder, grind Onion, Tomato, Ginger and garlic and make a fine paste
In Pressure cooker , add 2 tbsp oil , then add above paste , green chillies and let it simmer for 3 minute
Now add all dry spices, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder , salt , garam masala powder
Add Urad and rajma into it , mix all ingredients and close the lid of pressure cooker
Cook till 5 to 6 whistles or till rajma cooked completely around 20 minutes on low flame
Cool down cooker once dal cook,now open the lid , add cream or milk , dry fenugreek leaves and pinch of garam masala , simmer for another 5 to 7 minutes
Server hot with roti or naan
